The "Mouse Obesity Gene Map" began as a bioinformatics student project. Stefan Wuschke and Christian Schmidt systematically mined the literature and set up a database of mouse QTL for obesity-related traits. They programmed an interface to visualize the genetic loci, and performed a meta-analysis of the data to identify consensus regions or "hot spots" for the regulation of body weight and body composition in mice. We hope that you will find this website useful.
